In 1997 JEM Cutters came into being as the original manufacturers of plastic cake decorating cutters as they are known and used today. The name JEM is taken from Jill Elaine Maytham's name.
The inspiration to start the business came from Neil Maytham who over a period of time watched Jill, his wife and her students struggling with metal cutters which both rusted and came adrift at their seams causing them to lose their shape and so the business began in the Maytham's garage.
Jill's enthusiasm for cake decorating, together with her success as an exhibitor, teacher and cake decorating judge, has led her into the field of designing both cake decorating equipment for the decorator, and sugar flower sprays for the discerning end user. Jill has also written three informative books successfully imparting her knowledge in this art form in an easy to follow step-by-step instruction format.
Neil Maythams technical background together with Jill's creativity present a dynamic team in the manufacturing of original and innovative cutters and tools for cake decorating enthusiasts.
